Local Internet Search searches across the system, without a second index

One search box over the shared records, reusing the existing discovery architecture — no new index, no ranking, no promoted results.

What changed?

  • A cross-system search surface was built on the shared discovery reads already used by each site's own search, with no second database, index, geography or category taxonomy.
  • Results are labelled by what they actually are and routed to the experience that already owns them.
  • Reviews are excluded and the exclusion is explained: every review in the system today belongs to a demonstration business.

Why does it matter?

Searching across many local experiences should not require a separate search engine, a ranking model or paid placement. It only requires that the records be shared in the first place.

What's live now?

  • Searching businesses, organizations, articles, guides, events, offers and places in one place.
  • Results in the order the system already holds them, stated plainly on the page.
  • No demonstration content anywhere in the results.
